Ashoora ‘s day
When the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Medina, he found the Jews observing fast on the day of ‘Ashurah; so the Prophet asked them about it. They said: This is a day on which Allah gave Moses victory over Pharaoh. We fast on it out of reverence to Him. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: We have a closer connection with Moses than you have. He then gave orders that it should be observed.

Muslims believe all prophets sent by God. Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and the last prophet Muhammad.. Peace be upon them all.

So it’s recommended to fast ‘Ashoora, prophet PBUH urged us to fast that day, when he was asked about fasting Ashoora he said “I hope Allaah will expiate thereby for the year that came before it” which means that fasting that day Allah expiates the sins of a whole year!!

So by fasting that day, we follow prophet Muhammad PBUH, we thank Allah for saving and victory of Moses, and we gain a great reward ⭐
